Lavender Glass

Alone and quiet lying still
Seeking just a little happy
My body begins to shiver
I cry out in the dark
The glow on my face
Its source an untold beauty
The waves get closer
And I swim out to them
Little sounds and gasps for air
She brought me the waves
I’m so nervous and afraid
Sirens from the waters before
Left me weak and broken
I can’t change anything now
She has become the waves
I cry out for her eyes
While we hold an idle conversation
Suddenly the water….
It’s everywhere
Now my fear becomes real
As I ask her
Why are we still alone?
